Eliza Gwynne is a Sydney based designer and printmaker, working on unceded Gadigal Land. Their printmaking practice draws on a love of photography and form, realised through intricate studies of fleeting experiences.
Due to history with chronic illnesses and pain when working, her practice revolves around health and struggling to feel present within an ill body; straining the arms affected through meticulous carving in order to center the body within the experience of an otherwise fleeting scene.
Eliza’s monoprint and art books are an abstract means of capture and record, creating a network of dreamscapes through methods that erase and distort ones’ recognition of the scene. This body of work is inspired by a love of darkroom processes, erasure, layering, misprints and texture.
Finding great satisfaction, motivation and an extension of creative practice in creating design solutions for others, Eliza is currently persuing a career in Design - specialising in Branding Packages, Layout and UX+UI Interface Design.
